Dr. Tanya Atwater is a renowned geoscientist and science communicator, currently a professor at UCSB. Her research focuses on tectonics, particularly the plate tectonic history of western North America and the San Andreas fault system. With a background from MIT, UC Berkeley, and Scripps Institute of Oceanography, she has received numerous awards for her contributions to the field and is dedicated to science education at all levels.
